Opening with an introduction by the best-selling author Nuala
O’Faolain, this book, published by Rizzoli & due out in Feb.,
will be the first serious "art photography" image book on Ireland
produced by an American in many years.
It
is comprised of 104 images on 176 pages of heavy art paper with
five vellum inserts. The shooting on this particular project was
begun in 1998 and was finished in October 2000. The grayscale,
sepia & color images relate to Irish culture, history & life.
Rather than a glossy coffee table book full of pretty pictures
produced for tourists, "The Irish File" is an honest, personal
depiction and interpretation of Ireland as it transitions into
the 21st Century.
